PDRM Gets 425 Honda Civic 1.8S Patrol Cars

Honda Malaysia have just presented the Royal Malaysia Police with 425 units of the recently facelifted Civic 1.8S. These will serve as patrol cars alongside the other 425 Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8 that were delivered earlier this year.

The Civic 1.8S is powered by a naturally aspirated i-VTEC which is paired to a Continuously Variable Transmission. It produces 141PS and 174Nm of torque. In Malaysia, it has attained EEV status and it has a 5 star ASEAN NCAP rating.

PDRM officers can look forward to new convenience features such as auto front wipers and front parking sensors. Safety features on this model include

  • Six Airbags
  • Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with Agile Handle Assist (AHA)
  • Hill Start Assist (HSA)
  • Emergency Stop Signal (ESS)
  • Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)
  • Brake Assist (BA)

Honda Malaysia (or the Company) presented 425 units of the New Civic 1.8S to the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) to be used as new mobile patrol and enforcement vehicles. The dynamic performance, refined design, excellent handling and drivability of the New Civic makes it an ideal vehicle to support the responsibilities of the Royal Malaysia Police at the frontlines.

We are delighted that we are now able to resume the plan to deliver these new mobile patrol and enforcement vehicles which are expected to assist in the tasks and responsibilities of the police force in effectively responding to emergencies, maintaining law and order. We are pleased that the Royal Malaysia Police have chosen the best-selling model in C-segment, the New Civic, to assist them in their daily tasks, enforcements and administrative duties for the country.”

The model’sEnergy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) certified engine delivers a balance of dynamic performance and excellent fuel economy, ideal for the RMP officers to use daily as a patrol and enforcement vehicle. The New Civic is also available in 1.5LVTEC Turbocharged engine equipped with Next GenerationSafety Technology – the proprietary Honda SENSING.
