7th Gen Hyundai Elantra To Launch In Malaysia By Year-End

Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) has confirmed that the seventh-generation Hyundai Elantra will be launched in Malaysia before the end of the year. The all-new model will carry an estimated price of RM1XX,888 and is now open for booking with a fee of RM777.

As expected, the Elantra will come with a Smartstream G1.6 MPi engine mated to Hyundai’s eight-speed Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). The engine makes 123 PS at 6,300 rpm and 154 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm, all sent to the front wheels.

As far as equipment goes, the C-segment sedan is fitted with these features:

  • 4 driving mode (Eco, Smart, Sport and Comfort)
  • LED lights with Smart High Beam Assist
  • Rear LED lights
  • 17-inch wheels
  • 8-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • 10.25-inch Supervision TFT digital instrument cluster
  • Wireless charging

The standard safety features are headlined by the Hyundai SmartSense suite of safety technologies consisting of:

  • Forward Collision Warning & Avoidance Assist
  • Blind Spot Collision Warning & Avoidance Assist
  • Lane Keeping Assist & Lane Following Assist
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert & Avoidance Assist
  • Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go
  • Driver Attention Warning
  • Tyre Pressure Monitoring System

It seems that Elantra will be offered in a single variant. So far, there is no news about the Elantra N Line but don’t get your hopes up.

The fully transformed all-new 7th generation Elantra, which is slated for launch before the year end, is expected to excite the market with a distinctive and unconventional design that has not been seen before in an automobile. He added that the new look, which takes inspiration from geometric crystals’ cut body surfaces, is expected to wow customers due to its uniqueness.

“Not only does the car exude sophistication and sportiness, it also offers a fulfilling driving experience. The Elantra provides exciting driving dynamics with the new Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). Hyundai’s new IVT boasts superior fuel efficiency, improved performance and highly responsive gear change with the incorporation of a gear shift response strategy.”

“It is fun to drive a car that is loaded with a host of safety and convenient features, for instance, parking distance warning and wireless phone charging,” he added.

Apart from the striking design, the interior has an “immersive cocoon” interior that envelops the driver in a technologically-advanced sophisticated cabin that is akin to entering an airplane cockpit. A large interface consisting of two harmoniously connected 10.25-inch Supervision TFT and an 8-inch floating display enhances the futuristic feel of the car. The interior gives the driver access to the latest technology and also the most progressive in-car experience in its class.
