SOCAR Malaysia Donates RM10,000 To Bukit Aman JSPT
The pandemic is taking a toll on our frontliners, so it is hoped that this contribution by SOCAR Malaysia can help alleviate their burden
As a gesture of appreciation to the men and women in blue who have been making immense sacrifices to serve the country during the pandemic, SOCAR Malaysia has donated RM10,000 to the Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT)’s club fund.
“SOCAR Malaysia has had the opportunity to work with the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) to enhance safety for all SOCAR users on the platform, and we recognise that in keeping Malaysians safe at all times, the PDRM are taking on a great responsibility that can put their own safety and wellness at risk. During the pandemic, Malaysians have seen the tireless efforts of the PDRM, and some of these men and women in blue have sacrificed their physical wellbeing in their efforts to maintain law and order. At SOCAR, we are always ready to support the police, and as a company, we believe that trust and safety are key pillars that empower the sharing economy. Through this contribution, we hope to do our bit in recognising their tremendous service to Malaysians,” said Leon Foong, Group CEO of SOCAR and TREVO Malaysia.
Apart from the organising communal activities such as retirement celebrations and meet-the-public events, the club funds are allocated for the welfare needs of PDRM personnel in the Bukit Aman JSPT, including contributions for personnel and their immediate family members who are hospitalised or who have passed away.
In 2020, a total of 79 police officers received aid from the club fund, amounting to RM47,100. Moving into 2021, the department hopes to continue providing aid and assistance for members and their dependents in need. In addition, the department has also taken their own steps to provide moral support to lighten the burden faced by police officers.
YDH DCP Dato’ Azisman Alias, Director of the Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department said, “On behalf of the Bukit Aman JSPT club members, I thank SOCAR Malaysia for their kind contribution to the Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department’s club fund. It is always important for us to ensure that the wellbeing of our PDRM personnel are cared for. As part of our day to day work and also our public engagement initiatives, having a positive relationship with Malaysians from all walks of life, from businesses to ordinary citizens, is key to our success. We continue to welcome contributions and collaborations that can help us do more for our club members and strengthen our ability to engage with the community.”
