Jeep And Fiat Compact EV Models To Be Built In Poland
All new hybrid and electric compact cars will be built in the city of Tychy.
The FCA Group recently announced new investments in a strategic project implemented at the factory in the city of Tychy in Poland. FCA, which is now known as Stellantis under the now collaboration of PSA and FCA is planning a range of compact battery powered vehicles for the most popular European brands, Jeep, Alfa Romeo and Fiat.
Missing In Malaysia
The problem for us car buyers in Malaysia is this. Jeep is no longer officially sold here (only via a private importer) and Alfa together with Fiat have not been available in Malaysia for a number of years. With the push for these new electric vehicles, it would be good to see the revival of Alfa and Fiat in Malaysia as both are iconic and loved brands.
The investment will involve the expansion and modernization of the FCA Poland plant and will last several years. Its goal is to start mass production of the first of three new passenger car models for the group’s brands in the second half of 2022. The preparations have already started.
The announced Jeep, Fiat and Alfa Romeo cars are technologically advanced models based on a new concept of mobility. They will be manufactured using the most advanced drive systems, including all-electric drive.
As a result, they will set standards in their segments, enabling further development of the Group’s brands and effective competition in the most demanding markets in the world.
The announcement of FCA’s investment in the Tychy factory was sealed with a symbolic handover of the decision on granting public aid to the FCA Group by the Katowice Special Economic Zone (KSEZ).
Documents from the President of the KSEZ, Dr. Janusz Michałek was received by a member of the board of FCA Poland, financial director Sławomir Bekier. The granted support concerns the creation of favorable conditions for the implementation of the planned investment by providing FCA with the possibility of taking advantage of tax reliefs in the field of corporate income tax (CIT).
