Suzuki Returns To Malaysia 9th April 2021 With The New Swift And Jimny

Look who is handling the Suzuki business.

Surprise surprise, Suzuki fans here is great news. The Suzuki brand is back in Malaysia and will be open for business in about one month’s time. But who is the new brand owner? After the divorce with DRB-Hicom group and the departure of Mr. Keiichi Suzuki, the Managing Director of Suzuki Malaysia Automobile Sdn Bhd in late 2015 (now with Suzuki Philippines), Suzuki showrooms around the country slowly closed down or were rebranded.

Why A Second MPV

This was the time when Proton collaborated with Suzuki Motor Corporation Japan to rebadge the Suzuki Ertige compact MPV. At the time Proton already had the Exora 7-seat MPV and seemed a little strange why a second 7-seat MPV was needed, and a completely rebadged model with no localized input at all. It was launched in 2 variants, the Executive manual [MT] and automatic [AT]); and Executive Plus (AT) transmissions respectively with prices starting from RM58,800 up to RM64,800 for Peninsular Malaysia. It sold reasonably well because it came with proven Suzuki build quality and engineering.

Who Is The New Boss

So who is the NEW brand guardian for Suzuki in Malaysia? This is a question many have asked in the motoring circle in the last 4-5 years and we have news that a new Malaysian business partner, NAZA Automotive Group is ready to reignite the Suzuki brand in Malaysia yet again. Naza Eastern Motors Sdn. Bhd is the new company that will be handling the Suzuki brand in Malaysia.

Jimny Arrives

All will be revealed in just a few weeks and the rebirth of Suzuki in Malaysia will start with this all-new 4th generation Suzuki Jimny which has taken all the winning qualities of its predecessors and ticked the boxed with the Suzuki engineers to deliver this a retro-looking, yet contemporary compact off roader.

There no question that this latest Jimny 4×4 is desirable with a combination of non-conformist styling, a well designed and functional cabin, plus robust engineering. This 4th-generation Jimny is probably the most complete Jimny ever produced. We want one and we want it in 2021. The selling price is estimated at RM195,888.00 (subject to confirmation).
