2022 Ford Mustang Gets Stealth Edition, GT Performance Packages
One is purely an appearance package, while the other enhances handling
As part of the 2022 model year update, the Ford Mustang EcoBoost Premium will be available with a new Stealth Edition appearance package for the first time ever, while the V8-powered Mustang GT California Special can be had with the GT Performance Package.
Stealth Edition
As the name would suggest, the Stealth Edition features 19-inch aluminium wheels in Ebony Black, black pony badges, and black mirror caps. Also included in the package are a “performance” rear wing and clear LED taillights, which are also found on the Mustang Ice White edition introduced in August. Inside, there’s a matte and gloss black instrument panel badge and lighted sill plates.
Exterior colours available for the Stealth Edition are Atlas Blue, Carbonized Gray, Dark Matter and Shadow Black.
California Special with GT Performance Package
The GT Performance Package, on the other hand, brings with it performance-focused addendums such as Brembo six-piston front brake calipers, heavy-duty front springs, larger tubular rear sway bar, K-brace, strut tower brace, front subframe V-brace, TORSEN limited-slip differential, as well as specific tunings to the stability control and electric power steering. Its lowered stance is complemented by staggered 19-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli summer tyres.
Available on both the Mustang GT fastback and convertible, the California Special appearance package pays homage to the original version’s blacked-out grille, side racing stripes and rear fender scoop. It also comes with a California Special badge in Ebony Black and Race Red on the trunk lid, a honeycomb grille with a “GT/CS” badge and 19-inch painted machined wheels. A CS badge is also found atop the 5.0-litre V8 engine.
Interior appointments include black Miko suede trims on the door inserts and seats, embossed “GT/CS” logo and red contrast stitching, along with custom embroidered “GT/CS” floor mats. The instrument panel is finished in carbon hex aluminium with a signature California Special script badge on the passenger side.
The California Special can be had in Atlas Blue, Carbonized Gray, Cyber Orange, Dark Matter, Grabber Blue Metallic, Iconic Silver, Rapid Red, Shadow Black and Oxford White.
