Porsche Malaysia, TOC Offer Technical Training Programme

Ever dreamed of working at Porsche Malaysia? Here’s your chance!

With the Porsche Cayenne now being locally assembled in Kulim, Kedah, it is imperative for brand custodian Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP) to have enough trained technicians at their disposal as the demand is likely to increase in years to come.

It is therefore no surprise that Porsche Malaysia has joined forces with TOC Automotive College to offer a new factory-enriched technical training programme known as the Porsche Training Academy-Apprentice Programme (PTAAP). The programme will ensure that the local workforce supports the high-quality service requirements needed at Porsche Centres nationwide and are ready for future growth plans by the brand in the region.

Students will go on a “2+1” year training programme that places equal emphasis on both theoretical knowledge and practical skills expertise. Learning locations will be split between TOC classrooms and Porsche Centres.

The PTAAP syllabus starts with a two-year classroom and workshop-based curriculum that focuses on the increased complexity and technological advancements of future Porsche vehicles.

A dedicated Porsche technical trainer will also go through specific Porsche International Zertifizierter Porsche Techniker (ZPT) modules to allow for a greater understanding of these high-performance machines from Zuffenhausen.

Students are routinely assessed throughout the curriculum to ensure knowledge retention remains at a high level.

At the end of the two-year hybrid curriculum, students are immediately given the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge via a compulsory one-year on-the-job training period at Porsche Centres nationwide.

Finally, students will face an overall evaluation at the end of the three-year term. Top performers that achieve the passing mark will receive a Porsche Certified Technician Bronze Level certification, together with a TOC programme certification of their choice, either the Diploma in Automotive Technology or the Master Technician Course.

First enrolments for PTAAP will commence from February 2022. For more information on the programme, contact these numbers or visit the TOC website to schedule an appointment.
