Suzuki Belang, GSX-R150 And GSX-S150 Launching In Malaysia Soon

The return of Suzuki motorcycles to the Malaysian market under Suzuki Malaysia Sdn Bhd was marked with the launch of six big bike models, namely the GSX-R1000, GSX-R1000R, Katana, GSX-S750, V-Strom 650XT and SV 650.

While that might have brought some excitement to the Malaysian two-wheeler market, comments left on the company’s social media pages revealed that majority of the fans were instead more eager to see the arrival of Suzuki’s small-capacity models such as the Belang, GSX-R150 and GSX-S150.

During a live Facebook broadcast held last September, both Group Executive Chairman Ahmad Faez bin Tan Sri Yahaya and General Manager and Director Dato’ Jeffrey Lim had confirmed that all three models would be launched early this year at the latest. The bikes were pushed by Suzuki Malaysia personnel in the background as some sort of a teaser.

Fast forward to today, we’re already in mid-February and there’s still no word on the exact release date. However, perhaps to keep the fans interested, Ahmad Faez recently posted a photo of what seems to be the wheels for the Belang.

The photo looks like it was taken at the company’s assembly plant, so we’ll take this as a clear indication that production has already begun and the bikes could be launched here anytime soon. By the looks of it, the Belang could be the first of the three to make its way into our market.

When it does enter the market, the Belang, alongside the GSX-R150 and GSX-S150 will be distributed through the company’s Suzuki Station dealership network, which is dedicated for Suzuki models up to 250 cc.
