2022 Mercedes-Maybach S580 4MATIC Launched In Malaysia For RM1.93M
The new Z223 Mercedes-Maybach S 580 4MATIC has been launched in Malaysia.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has introduced the all-new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class along with the all-new, first-ever Mercedes-Maybach GLS. The Mercedes-Maybach S580 comes pre-configured, fully-imported for RM1,928,815.76.
The Maybach S-Class comes to Malaysia in the form of the S580 4Matic, powered by a 4-litre V8 with an integrated starter-generator (ISG) and a 48V electrical system. The mild-hybrid engine sends power to all-four wheels via a 9G-TRONIC gearbox and a 4MATIC system.
The engine produces 503 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 700Nm of torque between 2,000 rpm and 4,500 rpm. The electric motor supplements with 15kW and 200Nm of torque.
It features Dynamic Select for on-the-fly tuning customisation to the powertrain, ESP, suspension and steering. 0-100km/h is dispatched in just 4.8 seconds and it has an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h.
The powertrain is obviously not the only major differentiating factor when comparing the Maybach S-Class to the standard S-Class, which just got its pricing confirmed last week. The Maybach S-Class also sits on a chassis that is a whole 18 centimetres longer than the long-wheelbase S-Class and all of this additional room goes towards the passengers in the rear.
The rear passengers also get active multicontour executive seats and a Rear Seat Comfort Package. What’s more, the Maybach S-Class is now the first saloon to be fitted with an automatic seat belt extender, and this is for the rear seats. These rear seats are also equipped with PRE-SAFE positioning function to put the rear seats in a safer position right before an unavoidable crash.
The Maybach S-Class is also fitted with active noise compensation, going a step further in creating a cabin that is completely isolated from the outside world. To increase the sense of occasion, there are adaptive rear lights with a wide adjustment range between working and relaxing lounge lights.
Five displays in the Maybach S-Class, including the 12.8″ central display and digital instrument cluster, all feature OLED technology. It comes with the 2nd generation of MBUX, which is also on the new standard S-Class.
In terms of design, the Maybach S-Class has loads of details that separate itself from the S-Class. There’s of course the signature pin-striped Maybach grille in chrome. New chrome detailing surrounds the lower bumpers. There’s the Maybach logo on the C-pillar. Two-tone paint is a cost option and this comes with a hand-finished dividing line between the two paint jobs.
Rear doors are electrically-operated and can be closed with just a hand gesture and stopped by extending an arm.
