Mercedes-Maybach GLS 4MATIC Arrives In Malaysia For RM1.79M
The first-ever Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC arrives in Malaysia
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia today introduced the first-ever Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC alongside the all-new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. The Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC is the first SUV to be offered by the Maybach sub-brand. It is priced at RM1,789,453.18 and comes filled to the brim with equipment, but further customisation is allowed at additional cost.
It is powered by a high-tuned version of the 4.0L V8 twin turbo engine found in the Maybach S-Class and also comes with an integrated starter generator and 48V system. The V8 motor produces 557 horsepower between 6,000 and 6,500 rpm with 730Nm of torque available between 2,500 rpm and 5,000 rpm. This is paired to a 16kW motor with 250Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 9G Tronic transmission, with EQ Boost available in short burst. 0-100km/h takes just 4.9 seconds and its top speed is limited to 250km/h.
Compared to the Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC, the Maybach GLS feature interior appointments that above and beyond in many respects. It features two-tone paintwork in 8 different colour combinations, Multibeam LED technology for the headlights, which are in a new enclosure.
Up front, you get the Mercedes-Benz Star hood emblem above the pinstriped chrome Maybach grille. New chrome appointments are found throughout the vehicle’s lower sections outside.
The Maybach GLS also features electrically extending running boards. These extend while the vehicle is lowered for easier ingress and egress.
The Executive Rear seat can be used as a mobile office or as a private relaxation zone and can be configured for 2 or 3 seats. Every seat in the Maybach GLS features electric adjustability, climatisation, massage functionality and more. Comfort functions are integrated into the MBUX Command Centre Rear. There are airbags within the seat cushions in the rear and the seats are designed to stop passengers from sliding under the belt if they’re reclining.
One of the stand-out features of the Executive seat in the Mercedes-Maybach is the cushion airbag in the seat cushion. In the event of a frontal impact, it is designed to stop the rear passenger from sliding under the belt when the seat is in the reclined position. The cushion airbag restrains the passenger as effectively as possible and the seat belt equipped with inertia-reel tensioners and belt force limiters.
