Hyundai IONIQ 5 Launching And What Will The Price Be?

We take a closer look at the figures that reflect the IONIQ 5.

Yes, the much talked about IONIQ 5 which will probably be Hyundai Sime Darby’s best selling vehicle for 2022 is open for booking and its selling price shared in the coming weeks. We are guessing that the asking price will start from RM198k (selling price in North America starts at USD44,700 which is about RM188k and you need to add shipping, handling and after sales costs) for the two wheel drive version.

Meanwhile here are some stats on the versions coming to Malaysia.

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 will be sold in Malaysia with a range of power electric configurations to fit the mobility needs of every customer with two battery pack options of either 58 kWh or 72.6 kWh.

The IONIQ5 delivers sporty acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds in the all-wheel drive version equipped with the Long Range battery. In this version, the IONIQ 5 is propelled by two electric motors integrated with the front and rear axles, providing 305 PS and 605 Nm of instant torque. Power is 70 kW Front and 155 kW Rear Torque: 255 Nm Front Nm / 350 Nm.

In the two-wheel drive, Long Range battery version, the IONIQ 5 is propelled by a 160 kW electric motor integrated in the rear axle, providing 217 PS and 350 Nm of instant torque. Power delivery is 160 kW and Rear Torque is 350 Nm. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h is 7.4 seconds.

With Hyundai’s cutting-edge smart tech, IONIQ 5 delivers a range up to 481 kilometers when equipped with rear wheel drive and the Long Range battery.

58 kWh battery specifications.

In the all-wheel drive, using the Standard Range battery, the IONIQ 5 is propelled by two electric motors integrated with the front and rear axles, providing 233 PS (173 kW) and 605 Nm of instant torque. Power: 53 kW front / 120 kW rear torque: 255 Nm front / 350 Nm rear acceleration from 0-100 km/h is 6.1 seconds.

In the two-wheel drive version using the Standard Range battery version, the IONIQ 5 is propelled by a 125 kW electric motor integrated in the rear axle, providing 170 PS and 350 Nm of instant torque. Power is 125 kW and Torque is 350 Nm. The acceleration from 0-100 km/h is 8.5 seconds.

The IONIQ 5 offers excellent driving dynamics and sporty performance with a top speed of 185 km/h.
