Chery is a car manufacturer based in China and has earned the moniker “Technological Chery” due to its insistence on mastering core technologies. Chery exports their vehicles to over 80 countries and regions and has over 2 million users outside China making them China’s top passenger car exporter for 19 years running.

Recently, Chery has set a new all-time monthly sales record by exporting almost 36,000 units outside of China. That’s a 50.3 percent year-on-year increase. This bumps up the brand’s total export for the first half of 2022 to 148,000 units, a 24.9 percent year on year increase.

Moreover, 112,000 of these units were New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) which accounts for over three quarters of all units sold. This complements Chery’s status as a brand at the forefront of vehicle technology.

Even more remarkable than that was Chery Brazil’s sales performance for the first half of the year as the brand ranked ninth among carmakers in the country. The Arrizo 6 model ranked fourth in cumulative sales for the first half of 2022 and had a market segment share of 3.62 percent.

The Arrizo 6 sedan was also awarded Best Resale Value in the intermediate segment by remarkable media sources Kelley Blue Book and Quatro Rodas.

Moreover, 21,300 Chery Tiggo 8 SUVs were sold in Brazil from January to June of this year where the SUV primarily served as presidential and state transport in Brazil and several other countries and regions.

On top of that, Chery also recorded stellar sales in Chile where they attained 6.7 percent of cumulative sales for the first half of 2022, thus placing them in the top three spot in terms of sales and volume.

They also led the SUV segment with a 15.1 percent market share, dominated by the Tiggo 2 SUV which sold 6,088 units making it the number one vehicle in the segment. which was astoundingly more than many other international brands.

Chery has also maintained a strong growth momentum in South Africa since entering that market last year. Cumulative sales for the first half of the year were up 21.1 percent on a month-on-month basis. Chery has once again topped the SUV segment in South Africa as well and this time in under 10 months from the product launch.

Additionally, the brand also embraced their corporate social responsibility in early April 2022 when Chery held public benefit donation activities to alleviate water shortages in underprivileged areas.

Despite ongoing issues like the aftermath of the global pandemic and international logistics challenges, Chery has gone above and beyond to expand their overseas market and achieve phenomenal sales.
