Motul and MUGEN Launch New High-Performance Engine Oil For Honda Cars In Asia

Motul and Mugen have a new high-performance motor oil for Honda cars in Asia called MS-A.

French lubricant giant Motul has collaborated with Honda tuning company MUGEN to develop a new high-performance, fully-synthetic motor oil called MS-A by Motul. MS-A by Motul was designed especially for Honda cars in Asia and was formulated with the racing experiences of both brands in mind.

MS-A by Motul and Mugen Honda engine oil

MS-A by Motul is available in two viscosities – 5W-30 and 5W-40. They are suitable for all modern Honda engines. The motor oil has good High Temperature High Sheer (HTHS) protection for extended periods of time. It also prevents Low Speed Pre-Ignition (LSPI) on turbocharged Honda engines (like the one powering the new Civic). The best detergent and dispersant properties are an integral part of this oil.

MS-A by Motul is not yet available in Malaysia, but may be coming soon.

Here’s the press release with more.

PRESS RELEASE

Last week, Motul Asia Pacific announced the launch of MS-A by Motul, a new high-performance 100% synthetic lubricant jointly developed by MUGEN. The MS-A by Motul is available in two viscosities, the 5W-30 and 5W-40, and is specially designed for Honda Road Cars in Asia. Motul and MUGEN have enjoyed a rich and successful racing history with numerous victories on and off the track. This new product has been specially formulated with technology derived from MUGEN race teams and their learnings from using Motul lubrication in their motorsport pursuits.

MUGEN is the premier manufacturer of performance products for Honda automobiles. The instantly recognizable name is synonymous with high performance and pursuit of excellence. MUGEN race teams have been using Motul to lubricate engines in Super GT and Super Formula series staged in Japan for several years. Finding synergy and compatibility in their engines with the Motul products, MUGEN has been a close partner for the lubricant manufacturer. One of the most famous collaborations was the Honda MUGEN Motul Civic SI Race Car that won numerous races in the 1987 Japanese Touring Car Championship. The formulation for the MS-A by Motul has been modified uniquely for the Asian market in terms of viscometric and additive technology and rebalanced for road-going engines. The new lubricant is jointly developed by MUGEN as the most suitable engine oil for new generation Honda engines.

Naturally, the MS-A by Motul is best suited for modern Honda engines, providing class-leading protection and superior performance. It has been developed to provide high HTHS protection for the engine with excellent shear stability for extended protection and longer durability. Another feature of the new lubricant* also prevents Low Speed Pre-Ignition (LSPI) for the latest generation of turbo-charged Honda engines, to avoid premature hardware failure. This product has proven to have outstanding detergent and dispersant properties as well as anti-sludge and anti-wear features to keep the engine clean of any debris.

Earlier this month, Motul Asia Pacific held a Motul Minute media gathering, a bimonthly speaker series talking about all things Motul, to announce the launch of this product in markets across the region. The Motul Media Circle was invited to speak with Honda City Club Philippines and technical experts from Motul to introduce the product and provide information on how the MS-A by Motul is highly compatible with the Honda Road Car engine. The product will be made available for sale off the shelf in countries across the Asia Pacific, details of the release date can be found with local Motul distributors.
