Routes To Bangsar & Jalan Maarof Via Sprint Highway Closed Temporarily

If you’re heading to Bangsar using the Sprint highway, here’s a heads up about the road closure.

The area around Pusat Bandar Damansara has been an absolute mess for years now. Even back when I was studying in the area, it was already a confusing and congested area. Anyway, things are only getting worse for those who use that route to get from Petaling Jaya to Bangsar or just Jalan Maarof via the Sprint Highway.

That route will be temporarily closed while the bridge on Jalan Johar is demolished and replaced with a new bridge. There will be an alternative route to get through to Bangsar and Jalan Maarof. The new temporary route involves a small detour but doesn’t look too bad. Hopefully the signage will be clear. Traffic police will be stationed to ensure order.

Those looking to use that Pusat Bandar Damansara route to get to the Kuala Lumpur city centre should also take note of alternative routes via:

  1. Damansara Link – LDP
    • Penchala Link – Jalan Duta
    • Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim
    • Jalan Kuching
  2. Damansara Link – Jalan Duta
    • Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim
    • Jalan Kuching
  3. Damansara Link – Kerinchi Link
    • FHR2 – Jalan Syed Putra
    • Jalan Kinabalu
  4. Damansara Link – Jalan DAB
    • Jalan Universiti
    • FHR2 – Jalan Syed Putra
    • Jalan Kinabalu

The existing route through Pusat Bandar Damansara will probably be extremely congested with the closed road and extensive roadworks. We haven’t seen a timeline for how long the roads will be closed.

Here’s the press release and contact information to the engineers and others carrying out the works.
