Kia Seltos 2023 Model Should Be Launched In Malaysia

But will this latest Kia Seltos be launched in Malaysia?

This refreshed 2024 Kia Seltos has just made its debut at the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show, where the compact SUV boasted big changes.

Designed to appeal to consumers who enjoy life on the move, Seltos sports a more commanding presence thanks to refined design on the outside, while inside, a segment-first available panoramic display is the center-piece of the futuristic and modern cabin.

Meanwhile, most of you might be asking when will this latest Kia Seltos be launched in Malaysia? Well, since the change in distributorship, from the Naza Group to Dinamikjaya Motors Sdn Bhd there has only been two new Kia models launched in Malaysia.

The very popular Kia Carnival MPV and the all electric best selling Kia EV6. The 4th generation Kia Sorento SUV is the next Kia model to be launched in Malaysia and there has been no rumor or indication that the Kia Seltos is planned for a Malaysian introduction.

Interestingly, months before the change in distributorship, the Kia Seltos was launched by Naza Kia with a price of RM115,268 for the 1.6EX and RM133,268 for the 1.6 GT-Line.

Only a handful of units were sold and the rest were taken up by Kia Motors Malaysia to be used as company vehicles.

Now, with the Kia brand and interest re-ignited in Malaysia, there could be a business case for this latest Kia Seltos to compete head on with the advancing Chinese Automotive brands like Chery, Great Wall and BYD who are going to be launching their crossovers and compact SUV’s in Malaysia.

Right now the segment is dominated by the Proton X50, the Honda HR-V and the Toyota Corolla Cross. The latest Hyundai Tucson is not yet ready for launch.

So, the segment is crowded and will get more competitive in the next 12 months.

Anyway, we will have to wait and see what Kia Motors will decided and in the meantime here are some facts about this latest Seltos.
