Kia Seltos Selling Prices In Malaysia Confirmed
Will it be Naza Kia or will it be Berjaya to launch it?
Here comes a new year (2021) and the Kia Seltos is still not launched in Malaysia despite being previewed months ago at the Naza Automall in Petaling Jaya. The delay has been due to a number of factors, including Covid-19 and the uncertainty surrounding the continuation of Naza Kia as the brand guardian for Kia in Malaysia.
Kia History
Please note that Naza Kia was the first Malaysian company to introduce the Kia brand years ago and their first ever launch was the first Kia Sportage compact SUV. Soon after it was the highly successful Kia Sephia which was a direct rival to the evergreen Proton Wira. Then came a series of Kia models which were launched in Malaysia with success and the brand grew very fast in Malaysia. Faster than some Japanese brands and with selling prices that were very hard to ignore.
Kia Rumors
Now, fast forward to 2021 and there are a string of rumors that the Kia brand will move from Naza Kia to Berjaya Auto (Bermaz) just like what happened to the Peugeot brand moving from Nasim to Berjaya Auto Alliance last month.
Meanwhile we have just been shared the selling prices for this Kia Seltos.
Selling Prices
The Kia Seltos selling price will be RM115,888 for the EX version (which is very close to our earlier published estimated selling price) and RM133,888 for the high specification GT-Line version.
This means the Kia Seltos is priced neck to neck with its immediate rival the Hyundai Kona from RM115,888 and slightly higher over the Proton X50 Flagship at RM103,300.

Global Value
The Seltos was first launched globally in India on August 22 in 2019 amid an automotive industry demand slump in India. By October, Kia had delivered more than 12,850 units of the Seltos by the end of 2019 some 26,840 units were running on Indian roads. Today, the Kia Seltos has been a runaway success for the brand and it is growing in India.
Launched globally just a year ago, the Seltos won an award at the Tech and Auto Awards 2019, Kia Seltos is the Winner of SUV/MPV of the Year Award. In December the same year, the Kia Seltos won Car of the Year at the Autocar Awards2020.
