Volvo C40 Arrives In Malaysia For RM288,888, Online Sales Only
The all-electric Volvo C40 arrives in Malaysia and is only available online.
What a year it has been for electric vehicles in our country! Volvo Car Malaysia were the first to introduce a locally-assembled battery electric vehicle – the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric (known in other markets as the XC40 Pure Electric P8). Today, they followed up with Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric.
The C40 actually shares many core components with the all-electric XC40 including its Compact Modular Architecture (CMA), lithium-ion battery pack and twin motor setup. However, the C40 was designed from the ground-up to be a battery electric vehicle whereas the XC40 was designed for multiple powertrain options – petrol, diesel, mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid and pure electric.
There’s more. The C40 also has its own look to it, both inside and out. The roof slopes dramatically down for a coupé-like silhouette. It is met by a unique brake light signature with sequential animation effects.
The Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric has an output of 408hp and 660Nm of torque delivered through all four wheels for a 0-100km/h time of just 4.7 seconds. It has a range of 450km on a full charge. 150kW DC Fast Charging enables it to recover up to 80% of its state-of-charge in 28 minutes. The improvement over the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric in range and performance is attributed to better aerodynamics. The C40’s sloped roof, roof-mounted spoiler, and tailgate-mounted spoiler all contribute to this.
In Malaysia it is only available online through Volvo Car Malaysia’s new Online Sales Platform (http://www.volvocars.com/my)for RM288,888 on-the-road. This price includes:
- 5 years of vehicle warranty
- 8 years of battery warranty or 160,000km (whichever comes first)
- 5 years of Volvo on Call (Roadside Assistance)
- 5 years Volvo Service Included (VSI) or up to 100,000km (whichever comes first)
- 4 years Digital Service
- A charging cable

Online bookings begin at 8pm tonight with units available for viewing at authorised Volvo dealers starting tomorrow (15 December 2022).
