Will The 2024 Toyota 4Runner Be For Asian Buyers
The current 4Runner has already been around for decade.
Like the rugged looking FJ Cruiser, the 4Runner is a Toyota engineered for off-road and harsh driving conditions and still offer enough luxury seating and appointments inside the cabin.
Well, the 4Runner is a bigger vehicle and was designed for the North American market only and this is why there was never a right hand drive version produced.
Meanwhile, we have the Land Cruiser (also known as the 300 Series) for Asia and Africa and it has evolved into an all-round vehicle that caters to tarmac lovers as well as dirt road drivers. Since its launch in June 2021, the demand has been overwhelming and in some markets there is a 6 to 8 month waiting list. For Malaysians, you can buy in the private import showroom (AP Holders) right away at a premium price.
Interestingly, the 2024 Toyota 4Runner will be a completely new SUV, with new powertrains, platform, and design.
It will be a big improvement over the current 4Runner, which lags behind the competition when it comes to fuel economy, ride and handling, technology, and powertrains.
In order to keep up with the latest body-on-frame SUVs, the next-generation Toyota 4Runner will come with a turbo-four cylinder engine and also a powerful V-6 hybrid.
