Warisan TC: GAC GS3 Local Assembly Confirmed, Flagship Showroom Opened
The all-new GAC GS3 will be locally-assembled in Malaysia.
WTC Automotif (M) Sdn Bhd (WTCA), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Warisan TC Holdings Bhd, has announced an exciting new project in collaboration with Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC) to introduce the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) manufacturing of the GAC Motor GS3 model in Malaysia. This strategic partnership signifies a deepened alliance between WTCA and GAC, aimed at expanding their nationwide presence and delivering cutting-edge vehicles to Malaysian consumers.
The CKD Project and Expansion Plans
WTCA’s significant investment of over RM60 million in the CKD project will involve the local assembly of the brand new GAC Motor GS3 model. Additionally, this collaboration will facilitate the expansion of WTCA’s presence across Malaysia. Part of the investment will be allocated to model-specific enhancements and facility upgrades at Tan Chong’s Segambut facility, ensuring compliance with GAC’s stringent quality standards.
Tan Keng Meng, Chief Executive Officer of Warisan TC Holdings Bhd, expressed confidence in meeting GAC’s expectations, citing the Tan Chong Group’s years of experience and the latest investment in facility upgrades. GAC, renowned for its commitment to superior quality cars, has dominated China’s JD Power Initial Quality Survey for eight consecutive years. GAC Group Vice President and GAC International Chairman Yu Jun emphasized their confidence in WTCA’s ability to meet their high manufacturing quality standards and expressed a target of producing and selling 50,000 units within 3-5 years.
The First GAC Motor Malaysia Flagship Showroom
As part of their expansion plans, WTCA intends to establish over 70 showrooms throughout Malaysia. The first GAC Motor Malaysia flagship showroom, located in Section 13 Petaling Jaya, is set to open in the third quarter of 2023. This flagship showroom aims to provide an immersive experience for customers, showcasing GAC Motor’s hospitality and the superiority of their vehicles. Customers will be encouraged to test drive the GAC Motor GS3 and explore its outstanding features.
Advancing the Malaysian Automotive Industry
This CKD collaboration between WTCA and GAC marks a significant achievement for the Malaysian automotive industry. It serves as GAC’s first CKD project in the ASEAN region, demonstrating the commitment of both companies to expanding their presence and delivering cutting-edge vehicles to Malaysian consumers. WTCA’s long-term partnership with GAC will introduce a comprehensive inventory of right-hand drive GAC MOTOR models, including SUVs, sedans, and MPVs, ensuring that Malaysian consumers have access to the latest models on par with global consumers.
WTCA’s Partnership with Mayflower Car Rental
In another exciting development, WTCA has partnered with Mayflower Car Rental Sdn Bhd, successfully delivering a fleet of 25 units of GAC Motor GS3 SUVs. Mayflower Car Rental has acquired a total fleet of 50 GAC Motor GS3 SUVs from WTCA, highlighting their confidence in the excellence and performance of GAC Motor vehicles. This partnership aims to make the GAC Motor GS3 more accessible and affordable to Malaysians.
Mayflower Car Rental has also introduced the All-New Adventure GAC Motor GS3 Programme, a competitive car leasing initiative designed to cater to diverse market demands. This program provides the public with enhanced opportunities to experience the capabilities of the thrilling GAC Motor GS3.
