Polestar 2 Facelift Model Now Being Delivered To Customers Worldwide
The Polestar 2 facelift comes 150,000 units and three years into production.
Earlier this year, Polestar gave their first battery electric vehicle a significant upgrade in the way of a facelift. This Polestar 2 facelift model has now been put into production and is being delivered to customers globally, wherever it is sold.
As a reminder, the Polestar 2 was first introduced in 2020. Since then, the Sino-Swedish electric-performance company has sold over 150,000 units worldwide, many of which can be found in Europe. The United Kingdom is one of its largest single markets with over 20,000 units on the road. In this market, Polestar is one of the fastest growing car brands of 2023 with new vehicle registrations up 173% year-on-year.
For 2023, the Polestar 2 are bringing aesthetic and ‘under-the-hood’ changes as well as a new Long Range Single Motor variant with the electric motor being mounted to the rear axle. These changes are largely reflected on the updated Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric and C40 Recharge Pure Electric models in line with developments to the company’s in-house motor technology and a new CATL battery.
The new Polestar 2 Long Range Single Motor has a WLTP range of 654km from a new 82kWh battery. It has a charging speed of 205 kW as well. Performance of the motors are up as well. They now have an output of 220kW and 490Nm of torque, up from 170kW and 330Nm of torque. 0-100km/h is now done in 6.2 seconds as opposed to 7.4 seconds on the outgoing Single Motor Polestar 2.
