0Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster Ute Pickup Truck To Begin Australian Deliveries Early 2024
Will the Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster Ute also come to Malaysia next?
The first Grenadier Quartermaster dual-cab ute is fresh off the Ineos production line in Hambach, France, with European deliveries due to begin in December and Australian deliveries set for early 2024. Will this part G-Wagon looking and part Jeep Rubicon looking pickup truck come to Malaysia next? I sure hope so.
Shipments to the Asia Pacific, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East regions will follow soon after European deliveries are set and the Ineos Quartermaster is built on the same Hambach production line as its Grenadier wagon stablemate, and the two vehicles share many of the same off-road-ready features.
Moreover, these include a full box-section ladder frame chassis, heavy duty solid beam axles, a two-speed transfer case, and up to three locking differentials. Unlike the Ineos Grenadier, though, the Quartermaster comes with an uncompromising load-carrying ability which makes it more ideal for off-roading and towing.
The wheelbase of the Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster ute measures 3227mm to cater for a large truck bed that can easily fit a 1200mm x 800mm Euro pallet. The Quartermaster comes with a payload of 832kg for the diesel variant and 907kg for the petrol-powered version.
Speaking of, both the diesel and petrol versions of the Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster ute are powered by a BMW 3.0-litre turbo-charged inline six engines, mated to a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels, so it is clear that power and smooth handling will not be an issue.
Lynn Calder, CEO of Ineos Automotive also stated, “The start of production for our second model line is another extremely exciting and important milestone for INEOS Automotive. It’s a great addition to our model line-up.” It’s unique style also means that it will be a surefire hit if it were sold here in Malaysia.
On top of that, there is obviously no official word on whether the Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster ute will be coming to Malaysia and more likely than not, we will not be seeing this pickup truck here. As it stands, the competition between the current pickup truck offerings here in Malaysia is already fierce so this may deter new competition.
Well, either way, just like with everything else in life, there are multiple ways of looking at everything and in that spirit, one may argue that a new addition to the pickup truck market may be just what we need and may even be insanely successful as it offers something different from the usual suspects so let’s see what happens.
