Audi Q7 Gets Major Facelift, No New Gen Model 9 Years On

The Audi Q7 gets a drastic makeover in its 9th year, but still carries forward the 2nd gen’s DNA.

The Audi Q7 7-seater SUV has undergone a significant upgrade, blending a striking design with cutting-edge technology. The journey of the Audi Q7 began in 2003 as the Pikes Peak quattro concept, later materializing into a production model in 2005. Over the last 18 years, the Q7 has maintained its reputation as an all-rounder, combining prestige with versatility. With a length exceeding five meters, room for seven, and a luggage compartment of up to 2,035 liters, the first-generation Q7 set the standard in the SUV segment.

The company revealed a 2nd generation model in 2015 and this is the same fundamental basis for the new upgrade pack for 2024.

Robust Design Language: Exterior Features

The 2024 upgrade presents a robust and elegant design for the Q7. The exterior boasts minimalist forms, clean surfaces, and distinctive color options. The Audi Singleframe with vertical inlays and the higher-positioned headlights create a powerful and present front-end architecture. The vehicle’s self-confident appearance is further emphasized by color-framed air intakes, contributing to a robust off-road look.

Customization Redefined: Headlights and Rear Lights

The Q7’s headlights now feature HD Matrix LED technology with lasers, providing a longer beam range. The digital OLED rear lights, available for the first time, offer four selectable light designs and a proximity indication feature. These advancements enhance both safety and the premium-class character of the Q7.

Enhanced Interior and Infotainment System

Audi has refined the interior with contrasting seat stitching, new decorative inlays, and an expanded range of colors. The infotainment system now supports popular third-party apps directly. The surroundings display, part of the Audi virtual cockpit, showcases lane change warnings, distance warnings, and more in stunning full HD quality.

Top-Notch Suspension and Drive Systems

The Q7’s driving characteristics are defined by balanced, solid, controlled, precise, and effortless features. The suspension, steering, and drive systems contribute to a safe and comfortable driving experience. The optional electronically controlled air suspension with adaptive damping system, all-wheel steering, and various driver assistance systems ensure a smooth ride in all conditions.

Efficient and Powerful Engine Options

The Q7 offers a range of engines, including the 45 TDI quattro, 50 TDI quattro, and 55 TFSI quattro, providing a balance between power and efficiency. All V6 engines boast a towing capacity of up to 3.5 tons. The mild hybrid system improves fuel consumption, with a coasting feature between 55 and 160 km/h.

Sporty and Dominant: The Audi SQ7 TFSI

For enthusiasts seeking a sportier experience, the SQ7 TFSI features a V8 engine with 507 PS, reaching 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds. The sport differential and electromechanical active roll stabilization enhance handling, providing a dynamic driving experience.

Spacious Interiors and Configurability

The Q7 and SQ7 TFSI offer a spacious and prestigious interior. The optional rear seat plus allows for individual adjustments, accommodating three child seats and providing a third row of two electrically folding seats.

The Best Q7 Yet: Pricing and Availability

The enhanced Audi Q7 is set to launch in the first quarter of 2024, with prices starting at 79,300 euros. We doubt Audi Malaysia will introduce this model as it will not have a competitive edge and no pure electric model is available.
