BYD Seal In Malaysia Priced From RM179,800

The two variants of the BYD Seal are here in Malaysia to challenge Tesla

In a groundbreaking moment for the vibrant Malaysian electric vehicle (EV) landscape, BYD and Sime Darby Motors have officially launched the sleek and highly-anticipated BYD Seal, the brand’s all-new all-electric sedan.

A beacon of superior style, performance and technology, the debut of the BYD Seal promises to set new standards in the electric driving experience, symbolising both a substantial leap forward for BYD and a transformative milestone in Malaysia’s growing acceptance of electric mobility.

Moreover, at the heart of the BYD Seal is the innovative Advanced e-platform 3.0, positioning it as a trailblazer in safety and performance. The base variant premium model makes 230kW of power and 360Nm of torque while completing the century sprint in 5.9 seconds and the top spec performance variant comes with 390kW of power, 670Nm of torque and has a 3.8 second century sprint time.

This coupled with the revolutionary iTAC technology, it further elevates driving dynamics, minimising or potentially eliminating skidding. The BYD Seal also boasts many distinctive features such as the wave waistline, waterdrop mirrors, panoramic glass roof, and LED tail light.

The BYD Seal, with its spacious interior also offers 400L of boot space and an additional 50L under the bonnet. It also presents a bold stance at 4800mm long and 1875mm wide. The Thaumas Black interior, along with the crystal gear shift, further adds a touch of luxury, making it a true embodiment of Ocean Aesthetics.

On top of that, the BYD Seal is a marvel of modern automotive technology, featuring a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen that sits at the heart of its cabin, offering drivers an intuitive interface for navigation, entertainment, and vehicle settings. This is complemented by the BYD intelligent cockpit system, which integrates seamlessly with the BYD App for greater convenience.

Safety is, of course, paramount in the BYD Seal, which has been accorded with a five-star safety rating from ANCAP, adhering to the stringent 2023-25 testing criteria. The combination of the brand’s Blade Battery technology and CTB construction not only enhances the vehicle’s stability but also improves its safety profile.

The BYD Seal is available in 2 variants, namely, RWD Premium and Performance AWD variants, with prices starting from RM179,800 and RM199,800 respectively. The former has a WLTP range of 570km while the latter has a WLTP range of 520km respectively.
