Polestar, the brand recently abandoned by Volvo Car, has launched their 2024 Design Contest in collaboration with Mattel’s Hot Wheels. Polestar invites designers everywhere to unleash their creativity and imagine the ultimate Hot Wheels collectible with some Polestar DNA.
The 2024 Design Contest challenges both professional designers and students to think outside the box and create visionary designs that embody the essence of Polestar. Entrants are encouraged to let their imaginations run wild, pushing the boundaries of performance and design to create the ultimate Hot Wheels collectible. Whether it’s a sleek electric supercar or a futuristic airship, the only limit is your creativity.
Shortlisted entrants will have the unique opportunity to receive one-on-one coaching from Polestar’s design team, refining their submissions to perfection. This collaborative process not only enhances the quality of the designs but also provides invaluable mentorship for aspiring designers.
Since its inception in 2020, the Polestar Design Contest has showcased the talents of designers from across the globe. Past entries have included groundbreaking concepts such as pollution-fighting cars and micro-space treehouses, demonstrating the diverse and innovative thinking of the participants. With each contest, Polestar continues to push the boundaries of design and inspire the next generation of creators.
Contest Details
The submission deadline for the 2024 Design Contest is April 16, 2024, with the winner expected to be announced in Q4 2024. The winning design will not only become part of the Hot Wheels offering but will also mark the beginning of a wider partnership between Hot Wheels and Polestar.
