MG EV Showroom In Glenmarie Visited By TESLA Driver
Looks like a TESLA driver is interested to get a behind the wheel experience with the MG4 XPower
There is a brand new MG electric car showroom in Glenmarie and it is located where the previous Citroen/Peugeot showroom used to be.
In a recent drive-by, our photographer got this picture of a Tesla parked in their visitor’s car park, which could only mean that the Tesla driver wanted to get a feel of the MG XPower driving experience. The much talked about MG4 XPower variant has a price tag of RM158,999.
This variant of the MG electric car has a combined 435PS and 600 Nm. This hence translates to the most powerful production MG to date being able rocket to the 100km/h mark from a standstill in a (Smart #1) Brabus-beating 3.7 seconds, before going on to its 200 km/h top speed.

Meanwhile, the very popular Tesla Model 3 in Malaysia is available in two variants. The RWD model sells for RM189,000 or the Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive model sells for RM218,000.
The RWD model is quipped with a single rear-mounted electric motor and is able to do the century sprint in 6.1 seconds and has a top speed of 201 km/h. Tesla also quotes for this particular base trim to have a WLTP-claimed range of 513 km on a single charge, in addition to supporting up to 170 kW DC fast charging.

Interestingly, the Long Range Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive and pricier Model 3 variant nets another motor and more range than its base-spec RWD counterpart. The addition of a drive motor up front brings the century sprint time for this particular trim down to just 4.4 seconds, while the fitment of a bigger battery pack bumps up its WLTP-claimed range to a whopping 629 km on a single charge.

So, there will be MG4 competing electric car drivers curious to see and feel if their purchase is worth it when MG offers slightly faster acceleration at a very tempting price point of just RM159k.
Yes, the driving range might be 385km for the MG4 XPower, but the other variant, the MG4 Extended Lux has a 520km driving range, while delivering a standstill to 100km/h time of 6.1 seconds and having a price tag of just RM148,999 which is RM40,001 price difference with the similar powered and driving distance RWD Tesla Model 3.

So, the Tesla owner might want to see why they paid RM40,001 more for their China made Tesla.
