Proton is now bringing electric mobility to our friends in East Malaysia as well
Proton’s new energy vehicle subsidiary, PRO-NET, has successfully expanded its presence in East Malaysia by launching Proton e.MAS dealerships in Sabah and Sarawak, marking a significant step in the company’s efforts to make electric mobility accessible across Malaysia.
On 8 February 2025, the Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship of Sabah, YB Datuk Phoong Jin Tze, officially opened Harapan Maju Sabah Sdn. Bhd.’s Proton e.MAS showroom in Kota Kinabalu.
Moreover, on 11 February, the Mayor of Kuching South, Ybhg. Dato Wee Hong Seng, inaugurated Melinau EV Sdn. Bhd.’s e.MAS dealership in Sarawak. PRO-NET’s expansion continues with Ghee Hua Co. Sdn. Bhd. launching a showroom in Sarawak on February 13 and Fook Loi Eurocar Sdn. Bhd. in Sabah on February 28.
Zhang Qiang, CEO of PRO-NET, expressed excitement about the new phase for Proton e.MAS in East Malaysia. He emphasized that the opening of these dealerships demonstrates PRO-NET’s commitment to offering innovative, sustainable electric vehicle (EV) solutions to Malaysians. The expansion into East Malaysia is expected to boost the region’s economy and promote the adoption of EVs.
These new dealerships reflect PRO-NET’s strategic initiative to grow the EV ecosystem in East Malaysia. By providing access to advanced automotive technologies, the showrooms not only showcase the latest Proton e.MAS models but also serve as education hubs for customers, offering both sales and after-sales services to ensure long-term EV ownership satisfaction.
On top of that, with 37 Proton e.MAS dealerships nationwide, PRO-NET is on track to expand its footprint even further, creating a customer-centric experience in the EV market.
