Mitsubishi Outlander Facelift Already Being Teased, No Sign Of It Here At All

A new Mitsubishi Outlander is being teased in the USA but won’t come here.

The previous generation Mitsubishi Outlander was a surprisingly versatile and charming 7-seater SUV that served its niche well and continues to hold its value pretty well in the used market. However, with the arrival of the Xpander and new Triton, it looks like Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia has completely abandoned that particular segment of the consumer market. SUVs like the Outlander and the ASX have all but disappeared from showrooms.

Many Malaysians have been holding out hope for this arrival of the new Outlander model, which shares its platform with the next generation X-Trail. The next generation X-Trail is also absent from Malaysia but it was at least shown on stage at last year’s Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS 2024) with hybrid e-Power branding. Now though the world is already moving on with the Mitsubishi Outlander facelift model being teased for the US market.

The facelifted Outlander will continue the tradition of the 7-seater SUV. Only three official interior photos were shared and they show an updated interior which now includes an upgraded audio system. It’s not really relevant to us but in case you’re curious the upgrade will include SiriusXM available 360L on-demand satellite-streaming entertainment service. We warned you it wasn’t relevant to us.

It also looks like a Yamaha speaker system will be available on this new Outlander model. This mirrors the company’s recent partnership with the Japanese sound system company which was first shown on the Mitsubishi Xforce crossover, which, unlike the Outlander, is more likely to arrive in our market when the time is right.

Besides changes to the interior, the exterior design is said to have been tweaked and there are improvements to the on- and off-road driving character. All will be revealed at the end of February 2025. But what we can say with some certainty is that the Outlander is out when it comes to the Malaysian market.
