Jetour models like the T1 and T2 as well as its hybrid drivetrain are here for you to see
So those of you who follow me on Instagram will be well aware that Jetour Malaysia flew me out to Shanghai last week, along with a few other media friends, for the Shanghai Autoshow 2024 and the day before we actually went to the show, the brand invited us to a business dinner where we got to see a bunch of cool cars and tech that may be coming to Malaysia soon.

After launching the dashing here, Jetour teased us with a slew of innovative models and technologies in Shanghai which included its stylish T1 and T2 SUVs, including a unique T2 model wrapped in striking cheetah-themed livery, symbolizing its partnership with the Discovery Channel and the Cheetah Conservation Fund.
Moreover, this collaboration highlights Jetour’s commitment to both innovation and environmental awareness, a theme that runs deep in its latest offerings. We also got to see the brand’s 3-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission system, along with an advanced hybrid engine. This setup, part of the Jetour Kunlun Intelligent Hybrid off-road platform, looks very promising and given the brand is going for a premium off-road image, this is a very good piece of proof.

The Jetour T1 and T2, with their rugged exteriors and tech-packed interiors, are perfect for Malaysians seeking both urban comfort and off-road capability. Plus, having briefly test driven the 2 models on a curated test track (video on my ig highlights), I can confidently say, these vehicles can handle any Malaysian roads and even any off-road tracks here as well.
On top of that, the most exciting part of the night was the surprise reveal of the Jetour G700 SUV, the brand’s flagship luxury SUV. With bold styling, advanced features and off-road prowess, the G700 is definitely a head turner and while no one at Jetour can confirm if this model is coming to Malaysia ever, we are hopeful since they showed it off anyway.

Jetour also hinted at a comprehensive launch strategy for Malaysia, including local after sales support, a network of dealerships and potential assembly partnerships to keep pricing extremely competitive. The brand sees Malaysia as a strategic gateway to Southeast Asia so we should be very grateful for this.

So in short we already have the Jetour Dashing here and it seems some other models like the T1, T2, X70 and X50 (the latter 2 of which will definitely be renamed to avoid confusion in our market) are definitely on the way and it may be sooner rather than later so keep your eyes peeled, Malaysia. Since the price wars have landed on our shores as well, expect great prices too.
