2026 Toyota Camry Gets Darker Nightshade Edition, Will Malaysia Get It Too?

Perhaps now the Toyota Camry won’t look so sensible in the Nightshade Edition

The Toyota Camry has always been seen as the option for a sensible family man, a true blue uncle car if you will, but whatever Toyota’s team has been smoking lately has seen them shake up their entire image over the past few years and it seems the Camry is next on that list as the brand is giving it a darker, edgier look for 2026 with the Nightshade edition.

While these changes going into 2026 for the Toyota Camry are relatively minor, they include the introduction of a striking new variant, the Camry Nightshade Edition. This darker Camry is aimed towards fans of blackout aesthetics by incorporating numerous blacked-out exterior elements, offering a sportier and more aggressive look.

Moreover, the Toyota Camry Nightshade features a number of Midnight Black Metallic accents, including the front grille, mirror caps, door handles, and rear spoiler. Additional black touches are applied to the air curtains, canards, and rear diffuser. Gloss black badging and distinctive black 19-inch alloy wheels complete the dramatic exterior treatment.

To further push the style boundary, buyers can choose from high-contrast colors such as Ice Cap or Supersonic Red, or opt for a stealthier look with a fully blacked-out Midnight Black Metallic exterior. Inside, the sporty theme continues with black SofTex-trimmed seats accented by white stitching.

The new Toyota Camry cabin also features aluminum sport pedals and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters, reinforcing the car’s athletic personality. Standard equipment includes a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a wireless smartphone charging pad.

On top of that, mechanically, the Nightshade Edition shares its underpinnings with the SE and XSE trims, including a sport-tuned suspension with an upgraded front stabilizer bar. The hybrid setup remains unchanged so even though the Camry Nightshade will look very different from a conventional Camry, it will still be just as sensible to drive.

The refreshed 2026 Toyota Camry is expected to arrive at U.S. dealerships during the summer. Pricing has yet to be announced but should be similar to the current model, which starts at USD28,700 (roughly RM122,935), although given how the car is almost RM250,000 here as a hybrid, expect price to be closer to RM300,00, which is ridiculous for a Camry.
