Leapmotor C10 Gets Updated In China With 800V System

While Leapmotor may not be the most popular EV brand in Malaysia, they’re doing just fine in China and frequently list as the top-selling Chinese car start-up domestically. The C10 electric vehicle that is sold here just got a pretty huge update that we hope to see come to Malaysia as soon as local-assembly operations begin at the Stellantis Gurun plant.

To be clear, no one really expected the Leapmotor C10 to get an update of any kind, being just over one year old. However, the EV market is hyper-competitive in China and any leg-up is advantageous. In this case, the Leapmotor C10’s update doesn’t particularly look massive but it is indeed a substantial jump in terms of powertrain technology.

The new 2026 Leapmotor C10 is now available with an 800V high-voltage system which SHOULD enable faster or least more efficient charging and discharging of the battery. Right now, the model we get has a relatively conservative DC fast charging speed of 80kW. The new car’s fastest charging speed hasn’t been disclosed, but hopefully we get a bump up to at least 100kW.

What we do know is that the battery pack itself has gone up to 74.9 kWh while still sticking to Lithium Iron Phosphate chemistry. The CLTC-rated range is 605km, which should translate to just under 500km on the WLTP cycle. We also know that the motor output has gone up. The new edition of the Leapmotor C10 has a peak output of 295 hp, which is a huge jump up from 228 hp on the current model. This cuts the century sprint time down from 7.3 seconds to just 5.9 seconds.

Another change comes in the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P processor that will probably go unnoticed by customers. Additionally, the door handles are now electrically-retractable, which is a step up compared to the current model. One final change comes in the form of a new paint finish of purple.

We’ll have to standby to hear from Stellantis Malaysia if this new Leapmotor C10 will come to the country in CKD or CBU form, if it comes at all.
