The Casio G-Shock GA-V01 enters the Malaysian market with futuristic looks.
Casio has officially introduced the G-SHOCK GA-V01, a new addition to its renowned shock-resistant watch lineup, featuring a bold reinvention in design and construction. Pre-orders for the GA-V01 begin in Malaysia on 13 June 2025, exclusively at Crossover’s store at The Exchange TRX and online, with a nationwide release to follow at G-SHOCK outlets.
The GA-V01 features a futuristic, oversized design with an integrated bezel and strap. Key visual elements include a layered metallic analog-digital display, bumper-style indexes, side buttons with sharp edges, and an exaggerated butterfly-shaped dial that embraces Y3K aesthetics.
Among its standout features is the introduction of the Shock Release Hand—a magnetic structure that holds the minute hand without direct shaft fixation. This innovation allows the watch to better absorb shocks while enabling the use of larger, more prominent hands.
Constructed for durability, the GA-V01 maintains G-SHOCK’s trademark shock-resistant structure and 200-meter water resistance. A high-capacity battery offers approximately 10 years of battery life.

The GA-V01 is available in four colour options: classic black (GA-V01-1A), neon blue (GA-V01-2A), silver metallic (GA-V01A-8A), and neon yellow (GA-V01-9A). Each unit weighs 74g and measures 49.1 × 58.2 × 19.6 mm.
G-SHOCK continues to evolve its tough watch philosophy with the GA-V01, capturing the spirit of the original vision set by G-SHOCK’s creator, Kikuo Ibe. The GA-V01’s designer, Tomohiro Hamaue has captured G-SHOCK’s core identities for a modern audience with a fresh approach to construction and aesthetics.
The exterior is said to have an organic form with an integrated bezel and band, bumper-type indexes and side buttons with sharply defined edges. The oversized look extends over the spherical glass containing an analog-digital combo display with both an a layered metallic dial with openwork AND a full-screen Liquid Crystal Display.
