Chery Malaysia has officially launched the new Chery O5, a futuristic crossover SUV that replaces the OMODA 5. Priced from RM116,800, the O5 is aimed at a new generation of drivers seeking style, practicality, and safety in one package.
From OMODA 5 to O5
The O5 builds on the popularity of the Omoda 5, which has sold more than 13,000 units in Malaysia since 2023. Globally, the O5 is available in 38 countries, including Australia, Spain, Italy, and Mexico, with 44,769 units sold in 2025 (Jan–Aug) alone.
Dynamic Performance and First-in-Class Features
Under the hood, the Chery O5 features the familiar four-cylinder 1.5T engine with 156 PS and 230 Nm. However, it is now paired with a new 6-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (6DCT) for quicker shifts and higher efficiency. It is also the only model in its class with Multi-Link Independent Rear Suspension, ensuring smoother comfort, sharper handling, and enhanced stability. Drivers can choose from Eco, Normal, and Sport driving modes for a personalised experience.

The O5 introduces Chery’s latest design language with a Pixel Diamond Grille, X-shaped bumper, and arrow-shaped LED DRLs with sequential signals. Its athletic stance is enhanced by 18-inch black alloy wheels, a sleek spoiler design, and aerodynamic styling that projects modern sophistication.
