Proton e.MAS 5 Sets New Delivery Milestone with Over 3,000 Units in January 2026

The Proton e.MAS 5 has achieved a historic monthly delivery volume.

PRO-NET, the subsidiary of national automaker PROTON, has announced a landmark achievement for the month of January 2026, with the delivery of 3,276 units of the Proton e.MAS 5. This figure represents the highest monthly volume ever recorded for a single model under the PRO-NET umbrella, further cementing the brand’s position as a dominant force in Malaysia’s rapidly evolving electric vehicle (EV) market.

This milestone follows a successful 2025, during which the brand captured a 22 percent share of the local EV market. The surge in demand for the e.MAS 5 reflects a growing readiness among Malaysian consumers for affordable and accessible electric ownership. Launched in late 2025 as Malaysia’s “First Affordable EV,” the model was designed specifically to bring the benefits of electrified mobility to everyday drivers and urban families.

The success of the Proton e.MAS 5 is attributed to its balance of practicality and modern technology. With a WLTP-rated range of up to 325 km and fast DC charging capabilities, the vehicle is well-suited for both daily city commutes and longer weekend excursions. Its interior offers C-segment spaciousness, complemented by smart connectivity features such as a 14.6-inch FHD display, wireless smartphone integration, and a dedicated app featuring an integrated live charging map.

Beyond the product itself, the brand’s success is bolstered by an expanding ecosystem. PRO-NET is focused on providing a comprehensive ownership experience, including an extensive network of 48 dealerships nationwide and robust aftersales support. Initiatives like the “MISI 5” roadshow, which visited 42 locations across 13 states, allowed potential buyers to engage directly with the technology, effectively addressing common concerns regarding EV ownership.

Building on this momentum, the brand is continuing its aggressive vehicle lineup expansion. In less than two years since its inception, the sub-brand already boasts three products in the market. The latest addition, the e.MAS 7 PHEV, introduces Malaysia’s first dual-powered EV technology, offering an impressive total range of 1,065 km. This model utilizes advanced hybrid technology to deliver fuel efficiency comparable to smaller A-segment cars while maintaining an EV-first driving philosophy.

As Malaysia moves closer to its national sustainability goals, the record-breaking performance of the Proton e.MAS brand indicates that the transition to electric mobility is gaining significant traction. With competitive pricing and a focus on user-centric technology, the national automaker is successfully leading the charge toward a greener and more connected automotive future for all Malaysians.
