Seamless Toll Access from Day One

As a core component of this collaboration, branded RFID tags will now be offered as a bundled item with selected new models from the Chery, Omoda Jaecoo, and iCAUR brands sold nationwide.

  • Immediate Readiness: By providing RFID tags at the point of sale, Chery ensures that customers have immediate, hassle-free access to Malaysia’s tolling infrastructure as soon as they drive their new vehicle off the lot.
  • Future-Proof Technology: The RFID system is designed for interoperability, making it compatible with current Single Lane Fast Flow (SLFF) systems and future Multi-lane Fast Flow (MLFF) deployments.
  • Consumer Education: Both companies will collaborate on upcoming marketing campaigns to increase public awareness and understanding of RFID usage.

A Shared Vision for Digital Mobility

The partnership aligns with the Malaysian government’s vision for digital mobility. Men Lin Bo, Executive Vice President of Chery Corporate Malaysia, noted that innovation for the brand goes beyond vehicle design to include smarter ownership experiences.

Praba Sangarajoo, CEO of Touch ‘n Go Group, highlighted the significance of the move: “Our collaboration highlights the automotive industry’s recognition of RFID as an important tool, reflecting a shared belief that RFID is not merely a payment system, but an essential tool for the future of mobility in Malaysia”.

Chery’s Rapid Growth in the Malaysian Market

Chery Corporate Malaysia has quickly established itself as a major player in the local automotive landscape.

  • Chery Brand: Since 2023, the brand has delivered over 30,073 vehicles through a network of nearly 60 dealerships and aftersales outlets.
  • Omoda Jaecoo: This sub-division recorded 17,849 units in 2025 alone, representing a remarkable year-on-year growth of over 150%.
  • Global Standing: Parent company Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. has maintained its position as the No.1 brand in China for vehicle exports for 22 consecutive years, exporting to over 80 countries.

This strategic move with Touch ‘n Go—Malaysia’s first and only cashless payment solutions provider for electronic toll collection—further reinforces Chery’s commitment to delivering connected and future-ready driving experiences for Malaysians.
