GWM Malaysia shares strong Q1 2026 performance numbers.
Building on the strong momentum established in late 2025, GWM Malaysia has delivered a steady performance for the first quarter of 2026. Navigating a more measured automotive landscape, the brand successfully delivered 1,294 units, maintaining its status as one of Malaysia’s top 15 automotive brands.

The quarter saw a progressive improvement in market activity, with a particularly strong March reflecting stabilising consumer sentiment and a clear shift toward hybrid and electric vehicle segments.
Electrified Portfolio Leads the Way
GWM’s Q1 success was underpinned by a diverse product line-up that resonates with modern consumer priorities of efficiency and value.
- WEY G9 Hi4 PHEV: This flagship model emerged as the No. 1 Chinese luxury MPV in Malaysia for Q1 2026. It represents the debut of GWM’s Hi4 intelligent hybrid system locally, combining electric urban driving with long-distance flexibility.
- HAVAL H6 HEV: Continuing its 2025 success—where it held a 14.9% market share—the H6 remains a top contributor for those seeking lower ownership costs and fuel efficiency.
- ORA Good Cat: This model continues to serve as an accessible and environmentally conscious option for urban EV adopters.

Expanding the SUV Footprint
GWM continues to strengthen its presence in both the lifestyle and premium SUV sectors. The TANK 300 has solidified its position among adventure-driven consumers, while the TANK 500 provides a refined balance of understated luxury and off-road capability. Interest is expected to grow further with the upcoming launch of the TANK 300 HEV in the coming months.

Commitment to Long-Term Ownership Confidence
To support its next phase of growth, GWM Malaysia is aggressively expanding its infrastructure.
- Network Expansion: As of April 2026, the brand operates 39 showrooms nationwide, with a target of reaching 60 outlets by the end of the year.
- Service Standards: The brand is prioritising aftersales enhancements and high parts availability to reinforce long-term customer trust.
- Industry Engagement: GWM will increase its visibility through key platforms including the KL International Mobility Show 2026 and the Penang Autoshow 2026.
Managing Director Mr. Cui Anqi noted that the performance reflects growing confidence in the brand’s ability to deliver practical mobility solutions. Moving forward, GWM remains committed to a multi-powertrain strategy spanning ICE, HEV, PHEV, and BEV offerings to meet the evolving needs of Malaysian drivers.
