Hyundai IONIQ 3 debuts as compact EV hatchback.
Hyundai Motor has officially introduced the IONIQ 3, an all-electric compact hatchback engineered specifically for the everyday needs of the European market. As the newest member of the award-winning IONIQ lineup, the IONIQ 3 introduces a revolutionary “Aero Hatch” typology, balancing aerodynamic efficiency with a spacious, “Furnished Space” interior.

Aero Hatch Design: The Art of Steel
The IONIQ 3 debuts Hyundai’s ‘Art of Steel’ design language, which utilizes deliberate volumes to reflect the natural tension of sheet metal.

- Optimised Silhouette: The Aero Hatch design features a low, sleek front-end and a roofline that extends straight over passengers before merging into a rear spoiler.
- Efficiency: This geometry results in a class-leading target drag coefficient of 0.263, supporting a high driving range.
- Signature Lighting: The exterior is reinforced by signature pixel lighting and four central dots on the steering wheel representing the letter “H” in Morse code.

Performance, Range, and Charging
Built on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) with a 400-volt architecture, the IONIQ 3 offers two battery options to fit diverse lifestyles.

- Standard Range: Equipped with a 42.2 kWh battery, targeting a 344 km WLTP range.
- Long Range: Featuring a 61 kWh battery, targeting a segment-leading 496 km WLTP range.
- Fast Charging: Supports DC fast charging from 10 to 80 per cent in approximately 29 minutes, with an optional 22 kW AC charging capability.
- Powertrain: The front-wheel-drive motor delivers up to 107.8 kW (147 PS) and 250 Nm of torque.

Intuitive Technology and Interior Comfort
The IONIQ 3 is the first European Hyundai model to feature the Pleos Connect infotainment system, based on Android Automotive OS (AAOS). The system utilizes a 12.9-inch or 14.6-inch display to provide a highly customizable and intuitive user experience.

Despite its compact dimensions, the interior follows a “Furnished Space” approach with a flat-floor layout that comfortably accommodates three adults in the rear.
- Storage: A benchmark 441-litre total luggage capacity is achieved through a 322-litre trunk and a unique 119-litre “Megabox” located beneath the floor.

- Refinement: The cabin features high-quality textile materials inspired by 1970s Italian furniture design, a BOSE® Premium Sound System, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality.

Safety and European Production
Safety is anchored by the Hyundai SmartSense suite, including Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA2), Blind-Spot View Monitor, and a Surround View Monitor. The IONIQ 3 will be produced at Hyundai’s İzmit plant in Türkiye, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to local European production.

The launch of the IONIQ 3 in 2026 marks a major milestone as Hyundai moves toward electrifying its entire European line-up by 2027.
