The 37 year old victim who is a teacher at SMK Dato’ Yusuf Sulaiman, Pekan Nanas was heading to her child’s babysister’s house when her car collided with a truck after exiting a junction at Kilometer 2.2, Jalan Sri Menanti, Parit Sikom yesterday evening. The teacher was confirmed dead at Pontian Hospital.
The truck driver was detained for investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which carries significant penalties if negligence is proven. The police are still seeking witnesses to finalize the details of the investigation.
