Is It Auto Bavaria Or Atlantis Or Wearnes That Will Start Selling Rolls Royce In Malaysia

Auto Bavaria or Wearnes or Atlantis Motor Group might be selling brand new official Rolls Royce vehicles in the coming months.

By now most of you ‘gearheads’ or elite luxury car owners might know that long time Rolls Royce brand guardian in Malaysia, Quill Motor Group is no longer handling the Rolls Royce brand.

Rolls Royce

The Quill Motor Group is a prominent automotive division of the Quill Group of Companies based in Malaysia. It is recognized as one of the authorized BMW dealers in the country, operating extensive vehicle sales, service and advanced body repair facilities right in the heart of Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

The group officially secured its authorized BMW dealership in January 2009. It grew into a flagship partner for BMW Group Malaysia over the years. Previously, the division operated Quill Motorcars Sdn. Bhd., which served as the official importer and distributor for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in Malaysia. However, that premium luxury distribution rights contract officially concluded last year.

Just a few weeks ago, Rolls Royce APAC staff (based in Singapore) were in Malaysia to meet (listen to their pitches) the above 3 automotive groups and make a decision on which lucky group will take on Rolls Royce in Malaysia.

Auto Bavaria (right now handling RR after sales and service) and also Wearnes (selling Bentley and Aston Martin) are long established well known automotive ‘players’ in Malaysia and have strong backing to take on the Rolls Royce brand.

Then, there is a this ‘new automotive player’ in Malaysia, the Atlantis Motor Group which is an automotive company providing comprehensive end-to-end mobility solutions, vehicle procurement (both completely built-up/CBU and completely knocked-down/CKD), and multi-brand distribution.

Incidentally, an independent private distributor under the Atlantis Motor Group umbrella (DLSB Partners Sdn. Bhd.) is responsible for the official return of Alfa Romeo brand to the Malaysian market with a flagship 3S Centre at TREC Kuala Lumpur. ‘Whispers’ in the market say that they will be introducing Maserati to Malaysia (globally an auto brand in serious trouble).

In our humble opinion, the best candidate for the return of Rolls Royce is a group that has strong experience in selling luxury vehicles in Malaysia and overseas markets as well having a well organised after sales network.

However, Rolls Royce in Malaysia might need a total left-field ‘player’ to push the brand to new heights.
