The King Seiko VANAC Limited Edition is now available in Malaysia via Thong Sia.
Official distributor Thong Sia Sdn. Bhd. has announced the arrival of a special limited-edition timepiece in Malaysia to mark a major brand milestone. Celebrating 145 years since founder Kintaro Hattori established his original shop in Tokyo’s Ginza district in 1881, Seiko is introducing the new King Seiko VANAC Limited Edition (Ref. HKF004).

The release honors both the heritage of the King Seiko line—first introduced in 1961—and the bold, multifaceted design language of the 1970s VANAC series. Strictly limited to 800 pieces worldwide, the timepiece combines retro-futuristic styling with modern mechanical watchmaking.
A Striking Aesthetic Inspired by Tokyo and “Seiko Blue”
The design of the HKF004 centers around a contrast of silver-white and vivid blue, paying tribute to “Seiko Blue,” a signature color developed during the brand’s rapid era of innovation in the 1960s.
In place of a traditional bezel, the watch features an inner ring embedded directly into the dial, rendered in a rich blue hue that frames a horizontal stripe pattern. The three hands are executed in a matching lustrous blue, while Lumibrite is applied to the indexes to maximize legibility. Subtle design cues pay homage to the series’ identity, including a distinctive “V” silhouette incorporated into the 12 o’clock index marker and the counterweight of the central seconds hand.

Crafted from stainless steel, the 41.0 mm case features dynamic angular facets inspired by the expansive skyline and horizon of modern Tokyo. The case measures 14.3 mm in thickness and is paired with an integrated steel bracelet utilizing alternating brushed and mirror-polished links. Protecting the dial is a box-shaped sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating applied to its inner surface.
On the flip side, the sapphire crystal case back reveals a blue “shield” logo printed on the underside, derived from the historical 1960s King Seiko emblem.
High-Performance Caliber 8L45 Mechanical Movement
At the heart of the new King Seiko VANAC is Seiko’s premier mechanical movement, the Caliber 8L45. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), this 35-jewel automatic movement offers high precision alongside a robust power reserve of approximately 72 hours (3 days).

Engineered specifically for modern mechanical sports watches, the movement delivers an accuracy rating of +10 to -5 seconds per day. Through the exhibition case back, owners can admire the movement’s oscillating weight and bridges, which are finished with an elegant wave pattern decoration. The watch also provides practical daily specifications, including a 10 bar (100 meters) water resistance rating and a magnetic resistance of 4,800 A/m.
Malaysian Availability and Cortina Watch Retail Expansion
The King Seiko VANAC Limited Edition (HKF004) carries a recommended retail price of MYR 13,900 in Malaysia.

Coinciding with the launch, Seiko has also expanded its local retail presence by unveiling a dedicated point-of-sale display at Cortina Watch inside Fahrenheit88, Kuala Lumpur. Watch collectors and enthusiasts are invited to visit the new retail location to view the limited-edition VANAC alongside Seiko’s latest mechanical collections.
