The Audi Q9 Has Been Fully Revealed, Here’s What You Need To Know

The Audi Q9 is the brand with the four ring’s largest SUV yet.

Audi has expanded the upper limit of its global product portfolio with the unveiling of the all-new Audi Q9, marking the debut of the number 9 designation for the brand. Designed as a mobile living space, the full-size flagship SUV combines spaciousness, high-end interior craftsmanship, and advanced chassis technology.

Measuring 5.31 meters long, 2.21 meters wide, and 1.81 meters tall with a 3.14-meter wheelbase, the Q9 stands as the largest vehicle Audi has ever produced. The SUV will be available to order from the end of August 2026, with initial UK market deliveries scheduled for the end of the year.

The exterior architecture presents an authoritative stance defined by an upright Singleframe grille embedded in a seamless black mask, a straight beltline, an extended rear overhang, and alloy wheels measuring up to 23 inches. The vehicle debuts third-generation digital OLED rear lights featuring 3D curved glass panels built with 0.1mm ultra-thin glass.

Comprising 512 total segments across six large panels, the lighting system delivers dynamic light signatures, integrated exit warnings, hazard triangle communication signals, and advanced ground-projected turn signals. Up front, digital Matrix LED headlights utilize a micro-LED module to deliver high-resolution road illumination, adaptive lane guidance in construction zones, and pedestrian marking lights.

Inside, the Audi Q9 comes configured as a seven-seater as standard, with ISOFIX child seat anchor points installed on all three second-row seats. An optional six-seat layout replaces the middle bench with twin power-adjustable individual captain’s chairs. Automatic power doors feature an opening angle of up to 90 degrees, obstacle detection sensors, electric soft-close mechanisms, and remote activation through the myAudi smartphone app. Overhead, a standard 1.5-square-meter panoramic glass roof offers optional nine-segment switchable transparency and dynamic 84-LED illumination that syncs with 30 ambient lighting themes.

The digitized dashboard incorporates the MMI panoramic display, merging an 11.9-inch virtual cockpit with a 14.5-inch touch screen running Android Automotive OS, alongside a standard 12.3-inch passenger display with a dynamic privacy mode. Acoustic performance is anchored by an optional 22-speaker, 1,360-watt Bang & Olufsen 4D sound system utilizing Fraunhofer Symphoria technology, headrest-integrated speakers, and front-seat haptic actuators that translate bass frequencies into physical vibrations.

At launch, the Audi Q9 will be powered by a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine producing 299 PS and 630 Nm of torque. The powertrain is paired with a 7.5 kW electric-powered compressor (EPC), a fast-shifting eight-speed tiptronic transmission, and permanent quattro all-wheel drive. Fuel efficiency and low-end throttle response are optimized via MHEV plus technology, which incorporates a powertrain generator capable of delivering up to 18 kW (24 PS) of power and 370 Nm of supplemental torque.

Ride dynamics are managed by standard adaptive air suspension providing up to 90mm of height adjustment, supported by an all-wheel steering system capable of turning the rear wheels up to 5 degrees. Safety systems include an automatic emergency braking suite, exit warning, and a new emergency assist function capable of automatically steering the vehicle onto the highway shoulder if driver inactivity is detected.
