Perodua has announced an immediate price reduction across its second-generation (D74A) Perodua Axia lineup, cutting retail figures by up to RM4,700.
Perodua has reduced the price of the second generation Axia, which was launched in early 2023. The price adjustment makes Malaysia’s most popular A-segment hatchback even more accessible to budget-conscious car buyers, with entry-level automatic variants now starting from RM33,900 in Peninsular Malaysia.
According to Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, the price drops stem directly from ongoing operational efficiencies, process optimizations, and cost-reduction initiatives executed alongside local vendors and supply chain partners. All build specifications, safety features, and quality standards remain completely untouched.
Revised Pricing Across Model Range
The largest price reduction targets the entry-level 1.0G variant, which drops by RM4,700.

Underpinning the current Axia is the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) platform, which provides enhanced structural rigidity, lower kerb weight, and improved interior packaging compared to its predecessor.

- Fuel Efficiency: Rated at 25.3 km/L (G & X variants) up to 27.4 km/L on SE and AV trims equipped with Eco Idle auto start-stop, under the Malaysian Driving Cycle (MDC) test protocol.
- Cabin & Safety: Measures 3,760 mm in length with a 2,525 mm wheelbase and 265 liters of boot capacity. Range-topping 1.0AV variants pack a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 9-inch infotainment display, 6 airbags, and Perodua Smart Drive Assist (ASA 3.0) with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB).
Bridging the Gap to the ‘Axia Rahmah’ E Variant
The significant price slash on the standard 1.0G (Auto) variant narrows the financial gap between Perodua’s modern D74A generation and the ultra-barebones Axia 1.0E (fondly known as the ‘Axia Rahmah’).
First introduced at a rock-bottom price of RM22,000 to cater to driving schools and lower-income first-time buyers, the manual-only Axia E is based on the older first-generation platform and lacks modern safety tech like VSC, ABS, or central locking.
While persistent market rumors previously hinted that the manual ‘Axia Rahmah’ might eventually be phased out due to shifting consumer demand toward automatic transmissions, this RM4,700 price cut effectively gives buyers a far more modern, D-CVT-equipped entry point starting at just RM33,900.
