Chery Reports August 2026 Sales: iCAR Surpasses 10,000 Units While LUXEED Surges 404% YoY

Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. has released its brand-by-brand sales scorecard for August 2026, delivering 262,990 vehicles globally.

Chery has shared their August 2026 sales and it’s very strong. The performance marks a solid 14.0% year-over-year (YoY) increase, maintaining healthy growth across both mainstream and electrified sub-brands. From January through August 2026, Chery’s cumulative deliveries climbed to 1,799,942 units, up 10.8% YoY, keeping the group firmly on track toward another multi-million-unit sales year.

New Energy Momentum: iCAR and LUXEED Lead the Charge

The automaker’s dedicated new energy vehicle (NEV) divisions served as standout volume catalysts in August:

  • iCAR Tops Five-Figure Milestone: Chery’s lifestyle electric off-road and urban EV brand delivered 10,229 units in August, achieving a 112.2% YoY increase. Cumulative eight-month sales reached 64,689 units, an increase of 15.7% YoY, underscoring strong customer reception for its rugged micro-EV lineup.
  • LUXEED Posts Massive 404% Surge: The premium intelligent EV brand co-developed with Huawei (marketed domestically as Zhijie) registered 8,561 deliveries in August—a 404.2% YoY surge. Although early production adjustments contributed to a 22.6% YoY decline in year-to-date sales (38,615 units), August’s dramatic rebound points to stabilizing supply chains and accelerating deliveries.

Brand Performance Breakdown

Performance across Chery’s diverse passenger vehicle divisions reflected strong core brand volume alongside strategic portfolio adjustments:

  • Chery Core Brand: Remained the primary volume anchor, recording 187,426 units in August (up 16.1% YoY). Year-to-date cumulative deliveries reached 1,289,455 units, posting an impressive 24.2% YoY gain.
  • Jetour: The travel-and-adventure SUV marque registered 51,277 units in August (down 5.4% YoY), bringing its eight-month cumulative total to 360,122 units (down 10.6% YoY).
  • EXEED (Stellar): The luxury crossover division delivered 5,497 units in August (down 36.2% YoY), with cumulative eight-month volume totaling 47,061 units (down 39.0% YoY).

With its core brand expanding across international markets and electrified entries like iCAR (known here as iCAUR) and LUXEED capturing younger demographic segments, Chery’s multi-brand strategy continues to provide strong market coverage heading into the final quarter of the year.
