Myvi D-Max Crash Leaves 3 Fatalities Including A Child

Three including children died, four injured in a fatal crash in Rompin

ROMPIN – Three including a child died while four others were injured in a crash involving a car and a four-wheeler at Kilometer 142 Jalan Keratong–Bahau near Bukit Serok, Muadzam Shah on Sunday.

In the incident at around 5.30 in the afternoon, the driver of the Perodua Myvi car, Aida Asmalia Abu Samah, 46, located in Taman Cenderawasih, Kuantan was confirmed dead at the scene.

Crash

Rompin District Police Chief, Superintendent Sharif Shai Sharif Mondoi said, two of his passengers namely Siti Auni Syafiqa Sheikh Ali, 18, and Chempaka Alara Azizi, 3, were confirmed dead while receiving treatment at Muadzam Shah Hospital.

According to him, the passengers who were injured were identified as Adam Wafiy Muqri Jaslihardi, 14 (son of Aida Asmalia), Adawiya Syauqina Sheikh Ali (sister of Siti Auni Syafiqa), Amelia Kartika Mappatata, 32 (mother of Chempaka Alara), as well as the driver of the four-wheel drive vehicle, Mohd Faizal Sukardi, 32.

“Preliminary investigation found that the accident occurred when the driver of Myvi with his child and friend were believed to be on their way back to Kuantan after attending a wedding ceremony in Alor Gajah, Melaka, while the Isuzu D-Max four-wheel drive was driven by a farm supervisor from the opposite direction.

“Upon arriving at the scene, the car the victim was driving was believed to have lost control and then crashed into the opposite lane before colliding with an Isuzu D-Max,” he said.

Sharif Shai said, as a result of the accident, the driver of the car died on the spot while two other victims died while receiving treatment at Muadzam Shah Hospital.

“The bodies of all the victims were sent to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA), Kuantan for the interrogation process.

“Four victims were also sent to the same hospital for further treatment,” he said.

He said the accident that claimed three lives is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
