The Ferrari 849 Testarossa is a return of the classic nameplate with PHEV power this time.
Ferrari has unveiled its most powerful production car yet — the 849 Testarossa, a plug-in hybrid super sports berlinetta that now sits at the top of Maranello’s range. Revealed to international press and select clients, the 849 Testarossa replaces the SF90 Stradale and revives a legendary name in Ferrari history, blending futuristic technology with deep heritage cues.

Record-Breaking Performance
At the heart of the 849 Testarossa is a completely re-engineered twin-turbo V8 engine producing 830 cv, paired with three electric motors for a combined system output of 1050 cv — 50 more than the SF90 Stradale it succeeds. Power is delivered through an advanced plug-in hybrid (PHEV) architecture, allowing the car to sprint from 0–100 km/h in under 2.3 seconds and reach a top speed of over 330 km/h.

The electric motors — one at the rear and two on the front axle — enable on-demand all-wheel drive and torque vectoring, maximizing performance in every condition. In full electric eDrive mode, the car can travel up to 25 km silently, thanks to a 7.45 kWh lithium-ion battery.

Dynamic Precision
Ferrari has equipped the 849 Testarossa with the latest generation ABS Evo controller, brake-by-wire technology, and revised suspension geometry for razor-sharp handling. Extensive weight reduction — including recycled aluminium alloys and titanium components — ensures the new car maintains the same weight as the SF90, despite the power increase, giving it the best power-to-weight ratio ever achieved by a Ferrari V8 range model.

The FIVE (Ferrari Integrated Vehicle Estimator) system creates a real-time digital twin of the car, optimizing traction control, braking precision, and cornering agility.
Design Rooted in History
Stylistically, the 849 Testarossa takes inspiration from Ferrari’s 1970s Sports Prototypes, with sharp lines, a distinctive twin-tail rear, and aggressive aerodynamics. The result is 415 kg of downforce at 250 km/h, a 25 kg increase over the SF90 Stradale, while also boosting cooling efficiency by 15%.

The return of the Testarossa name pays homage to Ferrari’s iconic 1984 supercar, as well as the “red head” cam covers that first appeared on the 500 TR in 1956. The new design balances nostalgia with a futuristic edge, cementing the 849 Testarossa as a bridge between Ferrari’s past and future.
Driver-Focused Interior
Inside, the cockpit is even more enveloping and ergonomic, with a new HMI system, a redesigned steering wheel with physical controls, and a central sail motif that integrates the gear-change gate.

Buyers can choose between comfort seats or carbon-fibre racing seats, alongside new personalization options including exclusive colours like Rosso Fiammante and Giallo Ambra.

For Ferrari’s Most Demanding Clients
As Ferrari’s new flagship, the 849 Testarossa represents the pinnacle of performance, design, and technology in the brand’s lineup. It also launches with the optional Assetto Fiorano package, offering a 30 kg weight reduction, stiffer suspension, carbon-fibre wheels, and a track-focused aerodynamic setup for ultimate performance.
