NADI Willer has announced a new MaaS solution to reduce congestion in KL.
NADI WILLER Sdn. Bhd., the company most known for the Transational and Plusliner bus lines is now taking on a new role as a provider of Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) solutions in Malaysia. The company has announced new initiatives to improve public transport convenience and reduce traffic congestion in the Klang Valley. By delivering Japanese-quality MaaS, the company aims to encourage greater use of buses and rail while reducing reliance on private cars.

Tackling Malaysia’s Transport Challenges
Kuala Lumpur faces chronic traffic congestion due to limited first- and last-mile connectivity. Many commuters rely on private vehicles, family pick-ups, or e-hailing instead of public transport. Safety concerns over bus travel have also added to these challenges.

To address these issues, NADI WILLER has developed a MaaS platform that integrates mass transit with mobi DRT (Demand Responsive Transit) — an on-demand service offering flexible, shared rides that connect passengers seamlessly to public transport hubs.
Proven Track Record
Since its launch, mobi DRT has expanded to 26 service areas with more than 400,000 passengers and 100,000 registered members. A recent survey showed that 88% of users rely on mobi DRT to connect to public transport, reducing dependency on cars. Before mobi DRT, nearly 48% of riders relied on family pick-ups while 24% drove private cars.

Three New Initiatives
To further transform mobility in Malaysia, NADI WILLER introduced three major upgrades:
- Journey Planner with Multimodal Search The mobi app now integrates GTFS and GTFS-RT data for Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, allowing users to combine bus, rail, and mobi DRT in one seamless journey plan.
- Launch of mobi CONNECT Starting September 1, 2025, NADI WILLER began operating mobi CONNECT, a mid-distance on-demand ride service. The first route links Mont Kiara with LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre, a hub for LRT, monorail, and airport shuttles. Users can pre-book rides, with AI optimizing pick-up times and routes to reduce car dependency.
- Japanese-Quality Safety Standards In response to public concern, NADI WILLER has adopted Japanese-style driver training and fleet management. This includes classroom lessons, practical sessions, inspections, and digital monitoring via the WILLER Fleet system, ensuring drivers provide safe and reliable service.

Looking Ahead
Backed by Japan’s FY2023 Global South Initiative, NADI WILLER plans to expand its MaaS ecosystem, enhance public transport accessibility, and support Malaysia’s push for sustainable mobility. With its proven track record and innovative upgrades, NADI WILLER is set to redefine urban mobility in Malaysia, helping build smarter, greener, and more connected cities.
