The Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV and Tiggo 8 PHEV are open for booking right now.
Chery Malaysia has confirmed that its next-generation Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) – the TIGGO 7 PHEV and TIGGO 8 PHEV – will soon make their debut in Malaysia. Both models are powered by the brand’s advanced Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) technology, offering drivers a new benchmark in efficiency, performance, and safety.
The introduction of these models aligns with the government’s push for sustainable mobility through the MADANI Economic Framework, NIMP 2030, the National Automotive Policy (NAP), and the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR).
Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) – Advanced Efficiency
At the core of the new PHEVs is the 5th generation ACTECO 1.5TGDi engine with an impressive 44.5% thermal efficiency, paired with a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) and dual electric motors. This setup delivers up to 1,200 km of combined driving range, including 90 km of pure EV driving from the 18.3kWh LFP battery.
Charging is equally convenient, with the battery able to go from 30% to 80% in just 19 minutes using fast charging. Drivers can enjoy instant torque, seamless transitions between petrol and electric modes, and smooth power delivery for both city commutes and long highway drives.
Guardian Battery Safety System
Both the TIGGO 7 PHEV and TIGGO 8 PHEV are equipped with Chery’s Guardian Battery Safety System, offering peace of mind under Malaysia’s demanding driving conditions.
Features include:
- High-voltage power cutoff in emergencies.
- IP68-certified battery pack, dustproof and waterproof.
- 500mm wading depth for added flood resilience.
- Ultra-wide operating range from -35°C to 60°C.
