The Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV arrives as the most affordable plug-in hybrid electric vehicle in Malaysia.
Chery Malaysia today unveiled the much-anticipated TIGGO 7 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), strengthening its position as a leader in electrified mobility and expanding its New Energy Vehicle (NEV) offerings in Malaysia.
The TIGGO 7 PHEV is powered by Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) – an advanced hybrid platform designed to deliver outstanding fuel efficiency, long-range capability, and intelligent driving performance.
The platform integrates three core components:
- Dedicated Hybrid Engine (ACTECO 1.5TGDi – 5th Generation): Achieving a world-class thermal efficiency of 44.5%, ensuring remarkable fuel savings without compromising power.
- Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT): Offers seamless and intelligent power delivery, with dual electric motors that not only drive the vehicle but also recharge the high-voltage battery. This enables a combined driving range of up to 1,200 km.
- Advanced 18.3kWh LFP Battery System: Capable of delivering up to 90 km of pure electric range, with fast charging from 30% to 80% in just 19 minutes using DC charging.
Designed for Malaysia’s Roads
The TIGGO 7 PHEV is equipped with Chery’s Guardian Battery Safety System, providing peace of mind under all driving conditions. This includes high-voltage power cut-off in emergencies, IP68-certified dustproof and waterproof protection, 500mm wading capability, and reliable operation across temperatures from -35°C to 60°C.
The SUV also features a Driving Monitoring System (DMS), Multi-Collision Braking (MCB), and a suite of ADAS 2.0 safety technologies, including Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB). These features enhance driver confidence and safety in everyday driving and on long journeys.

Inside, the TIGGO 7 PHEV blends technology with comfort. A 24.6-inch Integrated Dual-Screen Display powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chipset ensures a smooth, responsive infotainment experience. Designed with Malaysian lifestyles in mind, the SUV offers functional roof rails, a generous 60-litre fuel tank, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) external power capability, making it versatile for both urban and outdoor adventures.

Warranty and Availability
The TIGGO 7 PHEV comes with a 7-year warranty (up to 150,000 km) and an 8-year battery warranty (up to 160,000 km), along with 5 years of free labour service covering six service intervals. A one-to-one battery exchange is also guaranteed if the battery’s health drops below 70% during the warranty period.
Available in Phantom Grey, Khaki White, and Blood Stone Red with Black Roof, the TIGGO 7 PHEV is set to raise the bar for hybrid SUVs in Malaysia.
