When will this latest Zeekr 7X arrive to tickle more Malaysian customers
The current Zeekr 7X was only officially launched in Malaysia in August 2025, but spy shots and reports indicate a significant facelift for the model in China is expected soon, with features like improved power and faster 900V charging.
This rapid update cycle has led some electric car consumers to express concern about their recently purchased vehicles becoming “obsolete”.
Here lies the issue to get more Malaysians to adopt electric car ownership.

Rapid update cycle: The Zeekr 7X was only launched in Malaysia in August 2025. However, reports of an updated version, including a facelift, have emerged very shortly after.
Significant upgrades: The rumored facelift includes substantial technological upgrades, such as potentially being the first to use a 900V architecture, which would dramatically increase charging speed (10 percent – 80 percent in seven minutes for the 95 kWh battery), and more powerful electric motors. The RWD version now produces 503 PS, up from 421 PS. The AWD Performance model gets a massive boost to 795 PS, compared to the previous 646 PS.
While a smaller 75 kWh battery is available, a larger 103 kWh pack is also an option, delivering a CLTC-rated range of up to 802 km.
Impact on recent buyers: For those who have recently purchased the 2025 model, the rapid arrival of a significantly updated version can feel premature, as their vehicle’s technology and performance may be quickly surpassed.
What this means for electric car consumers
Right now there is no timeline and it is uncertain when the face-lifted model will be available in Malaysia, but it is expected in China soon. Consumers who purchased the current model in August may be disappointed to see a much-improved version emerge just a few months later.
Meanwhile, those considering buying a Zeekr 7X now will be aware of the upcoming facelift and may want to wait for the updated model, especially if fast charging and increased power are important factors for them.
