BYD and Denza are inviting you to check out their Light The Change Festival happening all month and beyond.
If you find yourself at The Waterfront in Desa Park City any time this month, you may want to stop and check out the BYD and Denza Light The Change Festival. They’re doing something different every week well into the new year and you’ll have the opportunity to participate in plant adoptions and test drives too.

The ‘Adopt a Plant Pledge’ is hosted at the Greenfield Zone at Carpark 2. You can check out both BYD and Denza vehicles at the showcase and even ask for a test drive between 10am and 6pm. At 8pm and 9pm every day except Saturday, there’s a Golden Hour Show. All this is happening until 4 January 2026 and the schedule for Golden Hour shows are as follows:
| Week | Dates | Golden Hour Show |
| 1 | 28-30 Nov | Bubble Show & LED Butterfly Dance Performance |
| 2 | 5-7 Dec | Bubble Show & LED Butterfly Dance Performance |
| 3 | 12-14 Dec | Bubble Show & LED Butterfly Dance Performance |
| 4 | 19-20 Dec | Bamboo Music Performance by Alena Murang |
| 5 | 22-28 Dec | Xmas Snowfall |
| 6 | 2-4 Jan | New Year Light Show |
The festival features nature-inspired installations and a Tree of Life made from recycled materials, where visitors can leave messages of hope.

BYD and Denza have collectively sold 25,233 vehicles in Malaysia, given that both brands sell exclusively electric vehicles in Malaysia, they estimate that they have effectively removed 62,191 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the US, the average internal combustion vehicle produces about 4.6 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually. Going by this estimation, BYD and Denza could have claimed up to 116,071 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions were removed from local emissions, but their more conservative figure indicates they MAY be factoring emissions from energy generation or vehicle/battery production as well. Either way, 62,191 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions at face value doesn’t seem like a major exaggeration. Still, it would be nice for them to explain how they got to their figure. BYD Malaysia also claims that the amount of carbon dioxide emissions ‘removed’ from the equation is the equivalent of planting 2.5 million trees. An average tree absorbs about 20 kg of carbon dioxide a year, making 2.5 million another conservative estimate, but again we’re not sure what exactly the details of the equation looks like from BYD’s perspective.

Sales of BYD and Denza vehicles climb this year to 12,872 units sold as of November 2025 with an entire month of sales to go. Compared to the first 11 months of 2024, sales are up by 76%. Astonishing, considering this year they’ve had to face increased competition from players like the e.MAS 7.
