Perodua Traz crossover secures a 5-Star ASEAN NCAP safety rating.
Perodua has officially launched the all-new Perodua Traz, providing a fresh internal combustion engine (ICE) option to the Malaysian market. The launch is spearheaded by a major safety milestone, with the SUV securing a 5-Star ASEAN NCAP rating under the latest 2021-2025 assessment protocol.

The Perodua Traz delivered an impressive performance in its safety assessment, achieving an accumulated score of 86.86 points. This achievement marks Perodua’s second top safety score in 2025 and positions the Traz as the fourth model under the brand to be tested against the current rigorous protocols, joining the Ativa, Alza, and the recently debuted QV-E electric vehicle.

Comprehensive Safety Suite as Standard
A key factor in the Traz’s high safety rating is its extensive list of standard safety equipment.

Every variant of the Traz is equipped with:
- Occupant Protection: Six airbags and a reinforced safety structure designed to provide superior rigidity.
- Braking & Stability: Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Seatbelt Reminder System (SBR) for both front and rear passengers.
- Active Safety (ADAS): A comprehensive suite of Level 1 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems including Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) for City, Inter-Urban, and Pedestrian scenarios, Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), and Forward Collision Warning (FCW).

The SUV also includes specialized features such as Blind Spot Detection (BSD) for both sides, Rear Collision Warning (RCW), and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) to protect both occupants and vulnerable road users.

Performance and Score Breakdown
The Traz’s 5-star rating is supported by strong scores across all four ASEAN NCAP assessment pillars:
- Adult Occupant Protection (AOP): 38.57 points.
- Child Occupant Protection (COP): 17.21 points.
- Safety Assist (SA): 18.57 points.
- Motorcyclist Safety (MS): 12.50 points.

The inclusion of technologies like Child Presence Detection—which alerts drivers if a child is left unattended—and Intelligent High Beam Control (IHBC) further reinforces Perodua’s commitment to modern, proactive safety standards.

The launch of the Perodua Traz underscores the brand’s core objective of delivering affordable, accessible mobility without compromising on the high safety standards demanded by Malaysian families. With the 2021-2025 assessment protocol concluding this year, the Traz stands as one of the final models to be validated under this challenging cycle before the new 2026-2030 standards begin in January.
